Job Summary:

As a software/embedded engineer at BiaCure™, you will be part of a new team that is designing, prototyping, testing, and producing unique devices and accessories that advance the treatment of nail disease. You will work on projects from conception to manufacture, collaborating with system engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, clinicians, quality and regulatory individuals, vendors, and other subject-matter experts to ensure our work continues to enhance patient outcomes while providing excellent value for our customers.  The software role is a 50/50 mix of application and embedded software.  Strong collaboration with other engineers is critical.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software for all system components for the BiaCure™ device.
  • Assist in definition, creation, analysis and allocation of system software requirements.
  • Conduct analysis, review and evaluation of design alternatives and failure mode analyses.
  • Contribute in the creation of device and user detailed product requirements.
  • Lead the selection of user interface hardware required for the BiaCure™ device.
  • Write software documentation required for FDA devices.
  • Design and write verification protocols for created designs.
  • Conduct integration and verification test activities.
  • Help develop Design History File (DHF) deliverables.
  • Participate in Risk Analysis activities.
  • Support process and design improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in technical reviews.
 

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Easily adapt to exploring and finding creative solutions to highly-constrained design problems.
  • Understand the value of building iterative software releases to answer initial product questions.
  • Be a strong cross-disciplinary team member. Excited to work with and learn from other engineers, as well as communicating with subject-matter experts outside of these
  • Work independently on projects and keep good communication with other team members. Work with other engineers to drive and achieve milestones.
 

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar programming discipline required.
  2. 5 -7+ years of experience in product design (Member of teams producing products from concept to production) – required.
  1. Problem-solving and design experience required.
  2. Experience with implementation of embedded code in user interface devices (touch screens) preferred.
  3. Knowledge of FDA Quality System and Design processes preferred.
  4. Previous medical device or other regulated industry required.
